We now have a man page for knife in the chef source. If you cloned to ~/chef, it is located in:

~/chef/chef/distro/common/man/man8/knife.8

Copy that to a location in your $MANPATH, and hit 'man knife' for the goods.

This is also on the wiki:

Gents,

If you are running Chef 0.8, we've done a couple of things that will
require your attention:

1) A change in Mixlib::Log meant changing the way we set the log level
within Chef.  If you upgrade to the latest 0.8 master, you will need
to also install the latest Mixlib::Log from master.

2) Knife has been deeply re-factored.  You should run 'knife
configure' to set it up the first time, and place your key in
~/.chef/key.pem.

More documentation around the new knife is forthcoming.

Regards,
Adam
