Hey Chefs, welcome to 2012! Speaking of the new year, we put together
a little summary of Opscode work over the last year on the blog.
http://www.opscode.com/blog/2012/01/03/an-opscode-year-in-review/
Hopefully this year will be even grow-ier-ish-est. Or rather, we'll
build a lot of cool stuff.
I'm digging out from under a pile of email from taking a week off over
the holidays, so I'll get to following up with any new tickets and
pull requests that need notes soon. I see Steven Danna of Opscode has
been doing some of that lately, so three cheers for his participation!
Next I'm planning on getting right on finalizing some Omnibus Client
release mechanics and some merge passes.
Merge:
CHEF-2818 - cleanup DeepMerge usage and features
CHEF-2833 - Portage package provider doesn't behave as it should
CHEF-2836 - Chef master doesn't work with mixlib-shellout because
the log keys have changes
CHEF-2328 - RubyGems 1.8 Gives deprecation messages
OHAI-323 - spec failure in sigar/network_route_spec.rb failure
Other:
CHEF-2824 - "Mount" provider is not working on solaris.
Reopened - Add tests and fix up copyright header
KNIFE_EC2-44 - Teach ec2_create_server the --ssh-port option
Reopened - Add a test
KNIFE_EC2-39 - Failing specs
Reopened - Crufty branch, needs to be reorganized
OHAI-313 - Additional MAC for Correct Detection of Rackspace Cloud
Server (Ubuntu Natty)
Closed - Solution isn't viable, so wontfix, but will continue
looking for one in OHAI-267.
CHEF-2826 - pacman (arch package provider) doesn't allow for custom
package repos
Reopened - Concern over unescaped regex
