Unfortunately, I did not write an RFC on how to avoid hitting
mysterious gmail key combinations while typing quickly.
Ohai Chefs,
Per my action item, I've written up a draft of an RFC for
standardizing our attribute access syntax:
https://github.com/opscode/chef-rfc/pull/40/files
I did a small amount of research into areas that would need to change
their current syntax. The big questions are whether we want to also
extend this change to the server-side APIs that take attribute
specifications in their post bodies or query parameters.
I've also added a proposal for how to escape the "." character. I'm
not particularly attached to it though, so comments are very welcome.
Cheers,
Steven
