Hi there,
First off thanks for all the help on StackOverflow :D The time of the meeting
was definitely a "lesser of all evils" thing, and is definitely preferential
to UTC-N folks, but it was the best option from the original scheduling
survey. We basically use the RFC pull requests as a mini-forum for each
proposal. The meetings serve to focus the discussion and make sure everyone
is on the same page, but we always discuss all the issues raised on the PR
and much of the discussion happens outside the meetings in those comments.
As for non-English folks, thats a much bigger issue and one I'm afraid I
don't have a great suggestion on. It is super annoying to say "sorry all
discussion in English" but in the end thats the language the maintainer team
uses so you'll have to be able to make your case to them at some point. I
would definitely love to see a list of volunteers that feel comfortable
enough in multiple languages to technical conversations, maybe something we
could either make a document for or add to the community ambassadors section
of that RFC?
I missed the last meeting but barring oversleeping I'll be sending out my
usual post-meeting summary so at least you can get some idea of what
happened. Hopefully we can get a little more disciplined about adding
relevant comments to the PRs themselves so those following along there will
see them too. I can also start including the links to the raw IRC log for
those that want to review some bit in more detail. Thanks for all the input,
definitely want to see participation get easier for everyone!
