Ohai, Chefs!
As most people know, we set up some Chef services[0] under Runit with
the opscode/cookbooks. While testing this on Ubuntu Karmic Koala alpha
3, I found a bug[1] in the runit package itself.
The upstart directory changed from /etc/event.d/ to /etc/init/, and
the runit package still places the runsvdir upstart file in /etc/
event.d/runsvdir. This should be /etc/init/runsvdir.conf (the .conf is
significant).
Since Karmic is still in the alpha stage, and this should be fixed
'soon', we won't be making any changes to the cookbooks to work around
this. I submitted a patch on the bug report and will be working
through the process to get the package fixed.
[0] chef-client on clients, chef-indexer and stompserver on servers.
