All,
Some folks in #chef on IRC were having trouble with bootstrapping Chef
clients and servers. The Opscode gem server has 0.7.12 release
candidate, but the bootstrap tarball specified 0.7.10. The bootstrap
tarballs are updated.
If you want to use 0.7.10, specify the version when installing the
chef gem.
gem install chef -v 0.7.10
When running chef-solo, use this S3 URL:
http://s3.amazonaws.com/chef-solo/bootstrap-0.7.10-latest.tar.gz
If you want the latest and greatest, 0.7.12rc0, don't specify the
version, and use this S3 URL:
http://s3.amazonaws.com/chef-solo/bootstrap-latest.tar.gz
(or bootstrap-0.7.12.tar.gz)
The installation instructions are updated to reflect this, too.
