Thanks for the info. I am more interested in the RDBMS use case.
Scarce, persistant data that is "mission critical". I just formatted a
500GB EBS volume with ext3 and it took about 30 minutes. That's the
kind of task I'd rather do interactively. How does XFS performance for
bringing a new volume online effect the chef-client run time?
