In an attempt to future proof the RHEL packages, I tried building
existing ELFF spec against fc12.
The patching phase failed for fuzz level reasons.
While attempting to fix it, I noticed the patch was relaxing the merb
requirement to [ => 0 ], while the gemspec specifies [ ~> 1.1.0 ]
RHEL6 will be shipping with merb 1.0.15.
My question is: Does chef currently use merb 1.1.0 specific features?
If so, that would explain a lot of strange things I've been seeing
running 0.9.8.
Either way, I'll be making an updated merb rpm set.
Stay tuned
