If you are a Debian user, you are likely aware that rubygems installs
to /var/lib/gems by default, which is a non-FHS compliant location,
and causes all sorts of confusion when installing gems with binaries.
The bug discussing this has recently been re-opened by an Ubuntu
developer, and we're asking folks to lend support to making the Debian
default location for gems be in /usr/local. If you agree, would you
mind posting to
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=448639 and making
your voice heard?
Thanks!
Adam
