Only works with chef-solo effectively:

"Theres no detection or handling of other background running chef
processes or daemons. until then we recommend that users take-down
their chef-client services  temporarily, and re-enable them after
reboot / successful chef-solo run completion there may be an option to
enable/disable the other chef services in the runscript"
