Sorry about that - I've corrected the link, and removed the now incorrect beta statement from the Windows Quick Start - http://wiki.opscode.com/display/chef/Quick+Start+for+Windows. (Made the change from beta with the release in other sections, but missed the one you referenced.)You'll notice that you're at the Quick Start, which sets your management workstation up as a chef client. If you don't want to use the quick start (with the full installer), there is detail on the page and in the navigation and on the sponsoring "Installation" page for the whole section which should direct you appropriately. See attached for pretty visual pointy help.- Tom

Also, it'd be really nice to just have the standard gem commands to use documented. The installer is advertised as "beta". I'd rather just manually install what's needed versus playing with additional betaware.
