[chef] restore backups

Hello,

I'm a total newbie in relation to chef. Just found about it, and it looks promising to me. I would like to know if it is possible to create/use recipes, to make a full server recovery like, installing mysql, oracle, restoring backups, restoring dhcp config files... everything that would involve bringing back up a server.
