[chef] Any progress on support for Git annotated tags?

Hi Guys,

I filed a bug about 7 months ago, about how the Git resource provider doesn't handle annotated tags properly: http://tickets.opscode.com/browse/CHEF-2420

Was curious if there were any thoughts on when this might be corrected?
