[chef] cookbook upload failures

I'm sure this has already been answered, but I couldn't find much in the 
search.
Here's what I'm seeing:


 
 chef-repo]$ knife cookbook upload syslog_and_roll

 chef-repo]$ knife cookbook upload syslog_and_roll

 chef-repo]$

Happens about 15% of the time.

The search history I've seen on this issue seems to indicate that
updating to a newer ruby, like patchlevel 352, will help and/or
resolve it. But I'm already there.

Any ideas? Things I can do? Ways I can run the command to get better
logging of the failures?
