Yup, the inability to easily export the archives and the ease of search are
the two primary motivators in our plan to move off of Sympa. When we do make
the cutover, we will be taking the archives from Sympa and importing them to
another service that would allow for nice things like downloading the entire
archive and easier search of the history.
In short, "no simple way to do this currently, and we plan to fix that."
