[chef] Chef-client "sleep"

Hi All,

Thanks to Opscode improved "status" page where I can see the "last check-in" 
date, I have discovered that some of my nodes haven't run the chef-client for 
3-4 days.
When I login to these, I can successfully run the chef-cient manually, I can 
also see that the chef-client process is running on the background with an 
interval of 30 min.
Any ideas on why I see this behaviour ?
