Are there repercussions to having a partially updated, (some parts from
testing), version of debian?
I imagine yes if you want to use the latest, but how about just plain
squeeze/stable?

When I look at the versions one can get from |www.opscode.com/chef/install.sh
the version numbers are much newer than available from debian repos.
Is there much trouble with that?  What are the exact version numbers of
dependencies
needed for newest chef, so I can support bug fixes by running nearly git HEAD
code
from |
|git clone git:||//github.com/opscode/chef-repo.git|
|?

Thanks,

John
