I've just merged a number of patches and updates into the 
http://github.com/opscode-cookbooks/rabbitmq master branch for the rabbitmq ;
cookbook. There is now a tremendous amount of testing, because this cookbook 
seemed to be repeatedly being broken. The complete test matrix is here (36 
combinations):

What is not covered is clustering. There have been several conflicting pull 
requests and tickets to work on it, I've merged a set that are being used in 
a production environment, but if someone who is using this in anger wants to 
add Test-Kitchen coverage for it I will be very grateful. Breaking it into a 
separate recipe from the default would probably be worthwhile as well.
