What does "hostname -f" return on the box you're managing?

i found the issue looks like the chef-client was not exiting properly so the fqdn was not updated from the client machines

Hi All,

here is what i was trying to do

knife ssh "role:web" "uptime" -x user1 -P xyz

ideally it shall show 3 hosts

but it does only 1

the difference i found is when i run knife node show -a fqdn , i dont see the host name on the other 2 nodes, i did not create chef client by bootstrap in anyone of them ,
how shalli fix this ?

knife node show  qyntrneipap02.data.net -a fqdn
  fqdn:

knife node show pbldejksu303..net -a fqdn
