"knife vsphere" works reasonably well with VMware based deployments. It could 
use some refinement: environments that rely on the first run of chef to 
configure various environmental settings from the chef server, or that rely 
on having a decryption locally to unlock critical resources, can require some 
extra work.

Has anyone mastered the process of building a VM using a cookbook and 
deploying  an ovf ?
Or some other giration of chef utilities?
