I haven't had a chance to use that for a few month now, but I have a fork 
(with just one minor change to allow wrapper cookbooks) and a small wrapper 
to install oracle java on GitHub: https://github.com/st-h/
Probably there might have been some updates which I haven't merged yet, but 
at least that should give a working example
