Sascha & Joseph,
We are tentatively planning on getting the Ohai test suite working on more platforms (including Windows) next sprint.  This is part of a larger effort to unify all child process forking in Chef and Ohai under Mixlib-Shellout.

I'm definitely interested in chef's windows support, but I haven't dug into the ohai bits yet. Please do keep us informed.

Does anyone know if there are tests written for the windows ohai
plugins? I ran the rake commands as directed in the ohai readme, but
don't see it actually touching on the windows stuff?

I'm clueless about testing, but I'm pretty good at following directions,
so wondering if I missed something this time around?

When I run rake spec on my mac against the ohai code I finish up with this:

Finished in 2.96 seconds
414 examples, 0 failures, 1 pending

When I run it on windows, there are some failures, but I think they have
more to do with missing test bits.

Is there something else I need to be doing/using?

Sascha
