Hi, I use Gentoo and I wanted to try Chef, so I made some quick

stompserver. I packaged them into an overlay named 'chef', and am
uploading it here. It requires the use of the ruby overlay for some of the
dependencies. I hope this helps with the per-distro packaging task!

That's awesome, Alex!  Thanks for the help. :)

Would you be interested in writing a Gentoo Install entry on the Wiki that lets people know how to download and use the overlay?

I'll attach your overlay to it, and restrict who can upload new versions.

You might want to go to http://wiki.opscode.com/display/opscode/Contributing and fill out a CLA - that will let you send us patches directly to any Opscode open source project, in case you run in to any issues.

Thanks again,
Adam
