Jarek made some appropriate suggestions. The 'chef' mailing list is
meant for those in the Chef community, including those new to Chef and
just getting started, to ask questions and help each other out.
However, the 'chef-dev' list is for topics relating to the software
development of Chef and related projects and should be reserved for
development questions.

I strongly encourage you to take the time to read the suggestions in
ESR's "How To Ask Questions The Smart Way" essay:
http://catb.org/esr/faqs/smart-questions.html

It contains appropriate suggestions regarding when to ask questions
and what information you need to provide to increase the chances of
getting a response, and more importantly, as response with the answer
you are looking for. It also covers common etiquette mistakes for
new-comers to mailing lists in general, such as how to write a proper
subject for a post.
