It is hard for me to be critical of Librarian because I am a huge fan
of the author Jay Feldblum. He is a real trailblazer in our community.
That aside I find Berkshelf easier to use and better fits my work
style
It should also be noted that Berkshelf has a come a long way w/ the
almost released version 0.6.0. Pretty much all of the install
headaches are gone and the integration w/ vagrant is awesome
you can use it now
`gem install --pre berkshelf`
the most recent Chef office hours has a section on berkshelf
http://foodfightshow.org/2012/11/inaugural-office-hours.html which you
can watch Jamie Winsor answer questions about it. There is a also a
great blog post
http://vialstudios.com/guide-authoring-cookbooks.html
and foodfight episode entirely on Berkshelf
