Andrea, I would also be happy to package the partial support into a gem or cookbook so it can be used w/ 10.16.2

I desperately need partials to DRY up my haproxy and JBoss configurations :)

I *think* I've incorporated every functional requirement we talked about (except from my "wishlist" item about collections).

I didn't get rid of the mixin because it makes testing quite easier, while keeping classes at a reasonable time. We can do it later (or in the future).

Also Daniel, I haven't followed your proposal for lib/chef/provider/template/support_class.rb: lib/chef/provider/template would need to require it, but in turn this would need to see a declaration for Chef::Provider::Template or it would result in a bad inheritance chain.

Very much solvable, but I want to make sure I follow any relevant "coding standard". I.e. do we use "forward declarations" elsewhere in the tree?


Other than that, as far as I'm concerned this is good to go :) I'll wait for more comments and go ahead with the pull request.
