Spiceweasel is something I've maintained and developer on the side of
Chef over the last 3 years, I've never pushed for it to be included
into Opscode's list of supported applications. It fits a niche but I'm
not sure the demand has been there for Opscode to support it. I do
plan to continue to support and develop it and have lots of great
contributors.
I haven't used knife-lxc myself, the lxc patches came from another
user. I am not currently using LXC, but I would start with the Heavy
Water cookbook if I was getting started:
