Scott,

Sorry about not properly attributing your work in the email. I wasn't fully aware of the history, just that a different cookbook is there now. Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help.

Hi,

Heavywater did not maintain that cookbook; they forked it from me and published it.  I will forward the original email.  In the future if you could reference the proper authors; as they just forked my cookbook and uploaded it to the community site.

Thanks!

P.S. I won't apologize about caring about this; as AJ forked my cookbook and uploaded it to the Community site; and when I asked for permission to update it; it was typical fujin.

Forward below:

this is your version :) I added you collab too also merged the hw-cookbooks repo.

Hello AJ Christensen,

A new version of the backup cookbook has been uploaded to the Opscode community site.

You can find the new version at https://community.opscode.com/cookbooks/backup.

Thanks,
The Opscode Team

The "backup" cookbook on the community site used to be the one maintained by heavywater. This has now been replaced by https://github.com/cramerdev/backup-cookbook.

Both of these use the backup ruby gem (https://github.com/meskyanichi/backup) and have similar feature sets, but the cramerdev one is more actively maintained and is now the one you can find on the community site. Feedback and pull requests are always welcome.
