[chef] To edit run list of server by command line

Hi,

Is there any way to edit run list of server via command line instead of using
GUI and when i execute the command "knife node edit <server>" files open and 
in
that i have to update and save the file.

Here i want to edit file via command as i have to use this in my automation
script.

Please share your inputs for this query.
