As a member of the server
team, I'll echo what Julian said. We're aware that the server does not
setup properly on CentOS 7. Currently we're working towards the GA for
Chef Server 12 (the chef-server-core package). Our progress on that is
being tracked in a public Google doc[1]. The plan is once Chef Server 12 is out for us to begin figuring out what we need to update for CentOS 7. It's very much on our radar and is something we'll be addressing sooner rather than later, but the Chef Server 12 GA is up first. That being said, you are welcome to open an issue about this against the chef-server repo[2] and detail the ways in which this doesn't work and what you've done to try and get it working. With a central tracking place we'll be able to more quickly complete this work with the information you provide and we might be able to give you information on how to overcome the final issues you're seeing before we get official support in place.
