Does Chef has processor architecture dependancy? e.g. x86 family, POWER etc.Yeah, its been run on a custom powerpc 32-bit RHEL-based distribution. Once you've dealt with getting ruby, rubygems, and any binary gems like yajl installed, then it should just work. Also should be possible to build an omnibus package for it.
Hopefully not! Document doesn't say anything on this.
Does anyone has tried Chef on POWER/Linux? any known issues??
My understanding is Chef recipes are ruby DSL so if ruby can run successfully
on POWER/Linux (RHEL) platform then ideally Chef should run seamlessly on this
platform. Offcourse Chef has been supported on most of the Linux flavors.
