So long as it continues to "work" (for some definition of the word "work"), then it's
okay. But when it stops "working", there's no one who is going to fix it. You're on your own,
and no one cares.
I have friends at Google, and their answer is to use something else --
anything else that is actually supported. If they use GG at all, it's only
because there is nothing else available to them.
While I've been involved in helping to support the Mailman project for over
ten years, and I have some personal biases towards that end, I'm actually
fairly agnostic on the matter of where this list is hosted -- I'm happy to do
everything I can to help make it happen on Mailman-based resources, but I'm
also happy to have it hosted somewhere else, so long as that somewhere else
actually works and is actually supported.
If that means using simplelists.com, then I'm happy to do what I can to
support that. But given what I've heard from my friends who work at Google,
I am now actively against using Google Groups.
