Hrm.

The archive/web interface at lists.opscode.com is nicer.  It has this feature
that I am using right now (since I am new to the list and don't have copies of
the messages in this thread in my mailbox to reply to) to reply to a message 
in
the archive.  It's my hope that this message will be threaded in the existing
thread.

In any case, is it known if the simplelists.com lists support options like
"NOMAIL" for people who don't want to receive messages in their mailbox (i.e.
read archives, gmane, etc.) , but do want to be subscribed so that they can
post?

That would be a deal breaker for me.  Not that I am making the decision 
though.

And what happens if simplelists.com goes bust or is taken down, etc.?  There 
is
something to be said for being in control of your own infrastructure.
