Feel free to contribute a patch. We're very conservative with the JSON gem 
because of a painful experience where it was not working correctly with ohai 
for several months. That said, I believe some users have tested the latest 
JSON gem and it fixes a bug for RHEL users so it would be good to pick up the 
update.
